In Redford, Michigan, homeowners and business owners alike are increasingly recognizing the value of innovative methods that ensure their water systems function optimally. Jetting plumbing refers to the process of using high-pressure water streams to clear obstructions and clean out plumbing lines in both residential and commercial settings. This method provides a reliable alternative to more invasive repair techniques and is particularly useful in eliminating stubborn clogs and buildup in pipes. As urban infrastructure ages and usage increases, proactive maintenance through jetting services becomes not only practical but indispensable. Over time, homeowners have come to expect prompt, efficient, and minimally disruptive interventions, and many have discovered that professional jetting services near me offer the expertise needed to manage these tasks competently. The Best Local Plumber in Redford, Michigan, stands out as a leader in providing these services, ensuring that each plumbing jetting service delivered is both safe and effective. The following exploration delves into the intricacies of this technology, its benefits for various types of properties, and why partnering with a trusted provider like The Best Local Plumber can make a significant difference in preserving plumbing systems.
Jetting plumbing, often colloquially referred to as pressure jetting, is a process that has been refined and improved over several years. At its core, it is designed to provide an eco-friendly and efficient method for unclogging drain lines and ensuring proper water flow in everyday systems. In contrast to chemical or mechanical drain cleaning, jetting uses a controlled stream of water at extremely high pressure to break apart blockages and clean the inner surfaces of the pipes. This advanced technique not only clears obstructions but also removes years of accumulated grease, sediment, and debris, thereby extending the lifespan of plumbing infrastructure. Homeowners in Redford, Michigan, dealing with the implications of seasonal changes, such as ice formation or unexpected rainy periods, often find that regular maintenance with jetting plumbing significantly mitigates the risks associated with blockages. Similarly, business owners in commercial settings have found that scheduling periodic maintenance can prevent disruptive incidents and costly repairs.
The significance of jetting plumbing in today’s service industry cannot be overstated. Traditional methods of plumbing repair, which sometimes involve digging up extensive pipe work or even replacing entire sections of plumbing, have increasingly given way to more sophisticated maintenance techniques that focus on prevention and efficiency. This type of cleaning not only jettisons away build-up but also paves the way for the detection of minor issues before they escalate into major concerns. Redford’s blend of residential charm and growing commercial sectors specifically benefits from such preventative measures. The Best Local Plumber has earned a reputation in the community by offering comprehensive jetting services that address both immediate clogs and long-term system health. By utilizing modern equipment and techniques, their plumbing jetting service is designed to handle anything from minor blockages to firmly embedded debris, ensuring that water systems remain in prime condition.
Understanding the Fundamentals of Jetting Plumbing
Jetting plumbing is an intricate process that leverages the physics of high-pressure water to clean and restore the flow in plumbing systems. The process begins with a detailed assessment of the plumbing layout and the identification of any obstructions that may be present in the pipes. Once these areas are pinpointed, technicians use specialized high-pressure jetting equipment to deliver a concentrated water stream that is powerful enough to break apart obstacles, yet controlled enough to prevent any damage to the pipe itself. This method differs considerably from traditional snaking or chemical treatments because it not only clears the blockage effectively but also cleans the entire inner surface of the pipes. As water pressure flows through the plumbing lines, it dislodges debris, grease, and mineral buildup that can contribute to recurring issues if left unchecked.
One of the primary advantages of jetting plumbing is its versatility. It can be safely applied to both small residential household drains and larger commercial plumbing systems. In residential properties, for instance, jetting services are particularly effective in kitchens and bathrooms where grease, hair, and other organic matter can quickly accumulate and cause blockages. In commercial properties, especially in restaurants, hotels, and high-traffic facilities, the ability to regularly clear out plumbing lines is crucial to operating efficiently. Advanced jetting services near me, such as those provided by The Best Local Plumber in Redford, Michigan, ensure that both residential and commercial plumbing systems are maintained to a high standard. This technology not only resolves current issues but also prevents future complications by maintaining proper water pressure and flow throughout the system.
The advantages of jetting over other plumbing maintenance methods align with modern trends towards preventative care. A significant component of its success lies in its non-invasive nature. Unlike some repair techniques that require extensive modifications or the replacement of pipe sections, jetting focuses on healing the system using water as a natural, yet forceful, cleaning agent. This method is environmentally friendly, reducing the reliance on harsh chemical cleaners while also conserving water by targeting problem areas with precision. As local businesses and homeowners in Redford become more aware of sustainable practices, the appeal of jetting plumbing naturally increases. The Best Local Plumber consistently integrates these sustainable methods in their practices, ensuring that every job not only resolves the immediate problem but also contributes to the long-term health of the water system.
A deeper understanding of the technical aspects of jetting plumbing reveals the sophisticated nature of modern plumbing systems. Modern plumbing often involves a complex network of pipes made from various materials, including copper, PVC, and cast iron. Each material requires a different approach to cleaning and maintenance, and jetting services are ideally suited to handle this variety with minimal risk of damage. The precise control over water pressure during jetting ensures that even older pipes, which may be more susceptible to damage, are cleaned safely. Additionally, the continuous improvement in jetting equipment means that service providers can adjust the water pressure and flow rate in real time, fine-tuning the process to fit the unique characteristics of each plumbing system. Such technological sophistication is what has propelled jetting plumbing from a niche process to a mainstream solution for plumbing maintenance and repair.
For property owners in Redford, Michigan, the practical benefits are clear. Regular maintenance using jetting plumbing techniques reduces the frequency of emergency plumbing situations, thereby saving significant amounts of money and stress over the long term. The integration of cutting-edge technology with practical, time-tested methods provides a framework for a highly effective solution that stands the test of both time and varied usage conditions. Moreover, the ability to quickly address and resolve common issues such as grease buildup, mineral deposits, and even old root invasions makes jetting an indispensable part of modern plumbing maintenance strategies. By investing in regular jetting services, property owners can significantly reduce the likelihood of facing a sudden plumbing failure, ensuring that their businesses or homes stay functional and efficient.
The Benefits of Professional Jetting Plumbing Services in Redford Michigan
The decision to invest in professional jetting plumbing services is an important one for property owners who value long-term savings and the sustained efficiency of their plumbing systems. In Redford, Michigan, where variable weather conditions and the natural cycle of urban wear and tear add extra stress to plumbing systems, professional maintenance is particularly critical. One of the core benefits of jetting plumbing is its ability to restore flow and performance without resorting to invasive and damaging interventions. Professional technicians, like those at The Best Local Plumber, have training and access to sophisticated equipment that enable them to deliver precise high-pressure water streams that are optimal for each type of plumbing line.
When addressing the needs of residential properties, professional jetting plumbing helps homeowners avoid the costly consequences of untreated clogs and buildups. The precise nature of jetting means that families can enjoy clean and efficient draining systems, thereby preventing water damage, mold growth, and other secondary issues that can arise when blockages persist. Businesses also benefit from these services, as uninterrupted water flow is critical to operations in high-demand environments such as restaurants, office buildings, and retail stores. Scheduling regular maintenance with professionals not only minimizes emergency calls but ensures that the overall operational burden is reduced. The Best Local Plumber has built a strong reputation for providing comprehensive jetting services that are both reliable and cost-effective, making them a trusted partner for many Redford residents and business owners.
Another significant advantage of professional jetting plumbing is the preservation of the existing infrastructure. Traditional methods might involve extensive and unnecessary replacement of pipe sections, which not only disrupts daily routines but might also decrease the overall lifespan of the plumbing system. By contrast, jetting plumbing uses the existing network to its advantage, cleaning and clearing blockages without the need for drastic structural changes. This approach is far less disruptive, particularly in busy commercial environments, where downtime can equate to lost revenue and reduced customer satisfaction. The Best Local Plumber understands these challenges and takes a proactive approach to scheduling maintenance at convenient times, thus enhancing the reliability of the service while maintaining customer convenience.
In addition to immediate performance improvements, regular professional jetting services contribute to extended system longevity. Continual removal of debris and blockage materials means that wear and tear on the pipes is minimized, which is particularly beneficial in older buildings where pipes may be more susceptible to corrosion and damage. For both commercial and residential properties in Redford, this forward-thinking approach translates to fewer unexpected disruptions and fewer costly emergency repairs. Moreover, the comprehensive reports provided by professional service teams offer valuable insights into the state of the plumbing system, enabling property owners to plan long-term maintenance budgets more accurately. In many instances, this preventative strategy is what sets successful property managers apart, ensuring that plumbing infrastructure remains robust well into the future.
The environmental benefits of professional jetting services are also significant. By reducing the need for chemical cleaners and costly pipe replacements, this method promotes a more sustainable approach to plumbing maintenance. Professionals often rely on environmentally safe practices that minimize chemical runoff, thereby protecting local water supplies and enhancing the eco-friendly reputation of their services. Homeowners and business owners in Redford, Michigan, who are conscious of their environmental footprint, will find that jetting plumbing offers a dual advantage: immediate operational benefits and a commitment to sustainable practices. With its strategic combination of tradition and innovation, jetting plumbing continues to set the standard for modern plumbing maintenance, making it a valuable asset in any well-managed property.
Integrating these benefits into daily maintenance routines not only adds value to properties but also creates a foundation of trust between the service provider and the customer. Many clients have experienced firsthand the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their plumbing systems are managed by experts who employ proven techniques and modern technology to keep everything running smoothly. The Best Local Plumber has consistently demonstrated this commitment to excellence, ensuring that every intervention is tailored to the unique needs of the property and its users.
How Jetting Plumbing Works in Residential and Commercial Properties
Understanding how jetting plumbing works in both residential and commercial settings sheds light on the technical prowess and flexibility of this modern maintenance approach. The process begins with a thorough inspection of the plumbing system, during which the technician identifies problem areas using advanced diagnostic tools. Through this comprehensive assessment, any signs of buildup, obstruction, or damage can be pinpointed, allowing the plumber to determine the best course of action. Once the areas in need of attention are clearly identified, the technician sets up the high-pressure jetting equipment and initiates the process. This equipment, which is capable of delivering water at extremely controlled yet forceful pressures, is designed to safely break through the toughest blockages while preserving the integrity of the pipes.
In residential properties, the procedure is often less complex due to simpler plumbing layouts. However, even in these settings, consistent maintenance is key to preventing issues such as slow drains or complete obstructions that can lead to water backup and damage. High-pressure water is directed through the pipes until the blockage is completely dislodged, after which a thorough cleaning of the inner lining of the pipes takes place. This cleaning process is vital as it not only clears the immediate problem but also reduces the future risk of recurrence. The benefits of using a plumbing jetting service become immediately apparent for homeowners who experience faster drainage, a reduction in unpleasant odors, and a noticeable improvement in overall system performance. These advantages are why many residents have turned to jetting services as a core element of their plumbing maintenance routine.
Commercial properties, on the other hand, often present challenges that require a more robust approach. With larger and more complex plumbing networks, issues such as grease buildup, sediment accumulation, and even invasive roots can threaten the efficiency of drainage systems significantly. In these contexts, jetting plumbing lines become a critical tool in preserving operations. The same high-pressure water stream method is deployed, but the scale and frequency at which it is applied are tailored to the commercial environment. Businesses, especially those in the hospitality and retail industries, can ill-afford downtime due to plumbing issues. Thus, regular scheduling of jetting services is often part of a comprehensive maintenance plan that ensures operational continuity. The Best Local Plumber has extensive experience in deploying these services in busy commercial settings, ensuring that the system remains free from clogs and operates at optimal capacity.
A noteworthy aspect of jetting plumbing is its adaptability across various scenarios and pipe conditions. The technology can be adjusted to target different types of blockages, whether they are caused by solid objects, thick grease, or hardened mineral scales. This flexibility is particularly important in commercial settings, where a one-size-fits-all approach may not be sufficient to address the diverse challenges that arise. From using a combination of pulse jetting techniques to continuous pressure applications, modern jetting services have diversified strategies to handle every situation found in residential basements or large-scale commercial facilities. For many property managers in Redford, the use of sophisticated jetting services near me has proven invaluable by not only fixing immediate issues but by preventing future ones from taking hold.
Additionally, the process is designed to maximize safety for both the system and the technicians working on the job. Modern jetting equipment is equipped with safety controls that regulate pressure levels, thereby minimizing the risk of damage to delicate piping while ensuring an efficient cleaning process. This emphasis on safety means that even older buildings, which may have less resilient plumbing infrastructure, can benefit from jetting plumbing without the unnecessary risk of further deterioration. The controlled application of jetting methods also allows technicians to combine the cleaning process with other investigative measures, providing a holistic approach to system maintenance. In this context, leveraging professional expertise from trusted providers such as The Best Local Plumber becomes crucial, as their in-depth knowledge and experience ensure that every step of the procedure adheres to the highest safety and efficiency standards.
Across both residential and commercial installations, the benefits of jetting plumbing go beyond immediate repairs. The process often reveals underlying issues that, if left unchecked, could develop into major problems over time. For instance, slight misalignments or early signs of corrosion might be noticed during inspection and jetting operations, prompting early replacement or servicing of vulnerable components. Such early detection is a vital part of preventative maintenance strategies that can extend the overall life of the plumbing system. By combining intensive cleaning with careful diagnostics, jetting services provide a dual benefit: they resolve an existing problem while simultaneously acting as a preventive measure against future issues. This proactive approach is particularly valued in areas like Redford, Michigan, where the reliability of residential and commercial infrastructures is crucial to both everyday living and business operations.
Common Challenges in Plumbing and How Jetting Helps
Plumbing systems, whether in a cozy home or a bustling commercial space, frequently face a range of challenges that, if not addressed promptly, can escalate into major incidents. One of the most common issues is the accumulation of debris, grease, and scale that gradually narrows the diameter of the pipes, reducing water flow and efficiency. Over time, these obstructions can evolve into full-blown clogs that disrupt daily activities and create costly repair scenarios. Jetting plumbing offers an exceptional solution to these challenges by employing high-pressure streams of water that not only remove the congestion but also clean the pipe walls thoroughly. The thorough cleaning achieved through this process helps prevent the recurrence of blockages, making it a cost-effective and long-lasting solution for maintenance.
In residential settings, clogs in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry system can have far-reaching effects on the household. A slow drain might seem like a minor inconvenience initially, but if left unresolved, it can incur water damage, health hazards, and even structural issues due to backed-up water. The controlled nature of jetting plumbing means that even subtle obstructions are effectively addressed, minimizing the likelihood of larger, more disruptive problems. For homeowners in Redford, Michigan, the peace of mind provided by regular jetting services translates into less frequent service interruptions and a reduced need for emergency repairs. By scheduling periodic evaluations and maintenance, families can rest assured that their plumbing systems are operating efficiently and safely.
Commercial properties often experience even more pronounced challenges due to the higher volume of usage and the complexity of their plumbing systems. Business operations can come to a virtual standstill if blockages disrupt the essential processes that rely on a steady water supply. Clogging problems in restaurants, for instance, affect not only kitchen operations but also the dining areas, leading to diminished customer satisfaction. In these circumstances, jetting services play a pivotal role by ensuring that plumbing lines are cleared quickly and thoroughly. The industry-standard practices employed by professionals guarantee that the use of high-pressure water does not compromise the subsequent structural integrity of the pipes, allowing for high throughput cleaning that is both safe and effective. Seamlessly integrating such services into routine maintenance schedules can substantially reduce the risk of unforeseen shutdowns during peak business hours.
Another challenge that jetting plumbing directly addresses is the intrusion of tree roots and other natural elements into underground pipes. Over time, especially in older urban neighborhoods and commercial premises with extensive landscaping, tree roots can seep into the piping system seeking moisture and nutrients, causing obstruction and deterioration. The high-pressure water used in jetting effectively dislodges and removes these intrusions without the need for invasive excavation or replacement of large sections of pipe. This method not only removes the immediate blockage but also offers a preventative maintenance measure that reduces root regrowth. For property owners in Redford, this is a particularly attractive feature, as it preserves the aesthetic integrity of landscaped areas while maintaining a functional and efficient drainage system.
Jetting plumbing also offers a sustainable alternative to traditional chemical treatments. Many chemical drain cleaners, while initially effective, can cause damage to pipe materials over time and contribute to environmental pollution. Instead, high-pressure water cleaning is a completely chemical-free process, ensuring that the plumbing infrastructure remains intact without the detrimental side effects associated with harsh chemical cleaners. This eco-friendly aspect is increasingly important in an era when businesses and homeowners are more environmentally conscious. The Best Local Plumber embraces these sustainable practices, ensuring that every jetting project not only restores function but also aligns with modern environmental standards.
Occasionally, the challenges faced by plumbing systems extend beyond simple clogs and involve deeper issues such as leaks, corrosion, and pipe misalignment. While jetting plumbing is predominantly a cleaning method, it often plays a critical role in diagnosing these underlying issues. During the jetting process, trained professionals can observe the behavior of the water flow and detect anomalies that might indicate a compromised pipe. This dual function of cleaning and diagnostic evaluation enables timely interventions that can avert larger, more costly repairs in the future. It exemplifies the proactive maintenance approach where jetting services act as both treatment and an early-warning system for potentially deteriorating plumbing infrastructure.
Expert Techniques and Best Practices in Jetting Plumbing
The effectiveness of jetting plumbing relies heavily on the expertise of professionals who understand the delicate balance between force and precision. The techniques employed are not only technologically advanced but are also refined through years of practical experience in diverse settings. The choice of equipment, the calibration of water pressure, and the careful navigation through different types of plumbing lines all require a sophisticated understanding of both statistics and the physical properties of water. Modern jetting services are therefore as much an art as they are a science, where the right approach can transform a potentially laborious repair into a swift, efficient operation that restores full system performance.
One of the key expert techniques in jetting plumbing is the controlled regulation of water pressure. While it may sound straightforward, achieving the correct balance is critical. Excessive pressure, even if momentary, can damage the inner walls of older pipes, while insufficient pressure might not dislodge the blockage effectively. Professional technicians, especially those at reputable companies like The Best Local Plumber, are trained to adjust these parameters based on the specific material composition and age of the pipes. This meticulous calibration ensures that jetting services are both safe and effective, preserving the nuances of older residential infrastructures as well as the robust systems often found in commercial properties.
Another important aspect of the process lies in the method of application. In contemporary jetting plumbing, technicians may use a pulse jetting technique that alternates between short bursts of high-pressure water and pauses. This pulsation can be far more effective in breaking down accumulations of grease and sediment than a continuous stream. Furthermore, the intermittent application allows water to seep into areas that might otherwise be missed by conventional methods, ensuring that the internal surface of the pipes is thoroughly cleaned. Such methods are particularly valuable in properties with long-standing issues where clogs have recurred over many months or years. Property owners in Redford have witnessed how this precision-oriented technique minimizes downtime and prevents the need for repeated service interventions.
Safety is always at the forefront of these expert practices. Prior to beginning any jetting plumbing project, professionals conduct a detailed analysis of the piping layout, accounting for variations in diameter, material, and any known weak points. This thorough pre-assessment is critical in preventing unforeseen complications during the procedure. By mapping the entire system, technical teams can identify areas that might require a gentler cleaning approach or additional reinforcement. In commercial installations, where interruptions in service can lead to significant operational losses, such preemptive measures are indispensable. The Best Local Plumber is known for its rigorous attention to these details, ensuring that every jetting service is not only technically sound but also executed with the highest safety standards, protecting both the system and the occupants.
The integration of modern technology with well-established industry practices has also led to the development of hybrid methods that combine jetting with other diagnostic and repair techniques. For instance, many service providers now use closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to visually inspect pipes before, during, and after the jetting process. This allows for a comprehensive understanding of the system’s condition and ensures that the cleaning process has been fully successful. Such technological integrations have elevated the standard for jetting plumbing, making it possible to achieve not only a clean set of pipes but also to document and analyze the effectiveness of the service. Clients in Redford, Michigan, who opt for these enhanced services are often given detailed reports, which aids in long-term maintenance planning and underscores the value of investing in high-quality plumbing care.
Maintaining this standard of excellence requires continual training and technological upgrades, and reputable companies like The Best Local Plumber are in constant pursuit of innovative techniques. They invest in the latest equipment and ensure that their technicians are adept with both new and traditional methods of high-pressure water cleaning. This commitment to ongoing professional development not only boosts the effectiveness of jetting plumbing services but also ensures that unexpected challenges are managed with expertise and agility. By adopting and adapting to industry best practices, they provide a level of service that consistently addresses the unique challenges of each property.

Traditional cleaning methods had only provided temporary relief, leading to frustration and escalating repair costs. Upon engaging jetting services, a team of experts from The Best Local Plumber performed a comprehensive cleaning that eliminated years of buildup without damaging the delicate pipework. This intervention not only restored optimal water flow but also extended the lifespan of the entire plumbing system, turning a once problematic situation into a success story of modern maintenance.

A popular restaurant in downtown Redford, where kitchen operations are critically dependent on a reliable plumbing system, began experiencing disruptions during peak hours due to grease and food debris accumulating in the drains. The management was initially hesitant about implementing new maintenance techniques, but after a consultation with professionals known for efficient jetting plumbing, they decided to invest in regular maintenance. The scheduled high-pressure cleaning sessions quickly alleviated the issues, allowing the restaurant to operate smoothly even during the busiest periods. The restaurant’s case highlighted not only the immediate resolution of a clog but also demonstrated how consistent preventative maintenance could result in long-term operational savings and enhanced customer satisfaction.
In another instance, a multi-story commercial building with an extensive network of plumbing lines experienced sporadic backups in its lower-level restrooms, an issue that jeopardized both tenant satisfaction and the building’s reputation. After expert evaluation, it was determined that a combination of sediment buildup and localized corrosion was responsible for the recurring problems. A targeted jetting plumbing operation was employed, which effectively cleared the deposits and rejuvenated the water flow through the aging systems. The building management was impressed by how the service not only resolved the immediate issue but also provided insights that helped them schedule further preventive measures, thereby avoiding similar costly repairs in the future.
These case studies underscore the importance of employing a tailored approach to jetting plumbing. The adaptability of the method is evident in how it can be applied to different types of materials, varying pipe diameters, and unique obstruction challenges. The advanced diagnostic tools used in many of these services allow technicians to evaluate the internal condition of the pipes, ensuring that the cleaning process is customized to the specific needs of the property. Whether it’s removing a particularly stubborn grease deposit or dislodging tree roots that have infiltrated underground pipes, the real-world successes of jetting plumbing demonstrate that no challenge is insurmountable when approached with the right technology and expertise.
Many of these successes have resulted in long-term partnerships between property owners and service providers. About Redford, Michigan
Springwells Township and Bucklin Township were formally organized and laid out by gubernatorial act on April 12, 1827. Postal regulations prohibiting two post offices having the same name required—when a township was subdivided—unique names to be found. The Bucklin name was extinguished when it was split on October 29, 1829, along what is now Inkster Road into Nankin Township (west half) and Pekin Township (east half), named as a result of a wave of interest in China. In March 1833, Pekin was renamed Redford and the southern half became Dearborn Township on April 1. The name Redford was chosen because natives and colonial European immigrants forded the River Rouge where the river runs through Redford. "Rouge" is French for "red."
The township used to go all the way to Greenfield Road, but in the 1920s the eastern portions of the township were annexed by Detroit. This annexation ceased in 1926 when the township was given "charter" status by the Michigan legislature. In 1918 there was a post office named "Five Points" operating between 6 Mile Road and 7 Mile Road along the road of that name.
Redford is the site of Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, whose hiring practices spurred the 2012 Supreme Court Case Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Redford Township is a western suburb of Detroit. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 11.2 square miles (29 km), all land. The middle branch of the River Rouge flows through the Lola Valley Park in the township. Ashcroft Creek, another branch of the Rouge River, flows for about a half mile in the southeastern corner of the township before entering Detroit's Rouge Park, and then into the main branch of the Rouge. Tarabusi Creek of the Bell Branch, another branch of the Rouge River, flows through Western Golf Club and Bell Creek Park.

Redford Township Library is located on West Six Mile Road. The library service began in the 1920s, with a bookmobile providing service to the citizens of Redford Township. By the 1950s, the library operated out of a small store front on Beech-Daly Rd. about a block south of Fenkel. A larger, newly constructed and more modern Redford Township District Library operated from 1962 until August 23, 2004, when the library moved again to another newly constructed, even larger, technologically updated building. In a $4.5 million project, the old library building was turned into an open-air market, amphitheater (the Redford Marquee) and public green space. The Redford Marquee opened in July 2008. The construction of the new library was facilitated by an $8.5 million community bond. The 65,000-square-foot (6,000 m) facility is situated on a 2.6 acres (11,000 m) site that is being leased for $1 for 99 years. The library's collection consists of 100,000 books and periodicals, 2,500 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, in addition to 2,500 video items.
